Ayesha Takia: There’s hardly anyone in Bollywood who doesn’t know about Ayesha Takia, The Complan Girl! Along with Shahid Kapoor, she had endorsed the brand when she was in her early teens. She even played the lead role in Falguni Pathak’s music video Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye.

He began his stint in Bollywood alongside Aamir Khan, and played the role of a young Aamir in the movies Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander.

Sanjay Dutt: Bollywood’s most-loved con, Sanjay Munna Bhai Dutt, was 11 when he made his first appearance in a film. Even though it was a brief role, he played the role of a qawali singer in the movieReshma Aur Shera, which had his father, Sunil Dutt, in lead role.

Shashi Kapoor: Having been born to the filmy Kapoor khandaan, he was only seven when he acted in a movie called Tadbir. He won recognition in the movies Aag and Aawara where he played the younger version of his brother Raj Kapoor.

He was only 14-months old when he was selected as the face of Farex! After which he appeared in several TV commercials and popular movies like Mr. India, Shahenshah, ChaalBaaz, and Insaniyat.

After acting in one more movie, he took the role of an assistant director with Karan Arjun and Koyla.

Kunal Khemu: Even though his success graph in Bollywood is hardly a commendable one, he was one of the youngest actors in the industry during the 80s. While his roles in Raja Hindustani and Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke are particularly famous, he has also acted in a few other movies as a child actor.

Happy Birthday Shahid Kapoor: Top Ten Roles – From ‘Jab We Met’ to ‘Haider’

Said time and again, Shahid Kapoor got a second lease of life in Bollywood with the 2014 release 'Haider'. Vishal Bharadwaj completed his Shakespearen trilogy with this adaptation of 'Hamlet' and gave Shahid the mantle to carry the burden on his drooping shoulders. Drooping, because, for all we know, the actor was being criticised for his career choices post 'R Rajkumar'.

But Shahid excelled and how! Not only did he go win the hearts of audiences and critics in equal measures, but also managed to win the 'Best Actor' award at almost every award event. And why not! His portrayal of the emotionally conflicted 'Haider' was heartrending and heart-wrenching at the same time.

Today, as he celebrates his 34th birthday, we bring nine more of his roles, which left us in wonder of the young superstar's talents - acting, dancing and screen presence.

With 'Haider' being the first, second in our list is Imtiaz Ali's 'Jab We Met'. Subtle and silent, that's how Shahid portrayed this character. Kareena Kapoor played the garrulous Geet in the movie, so took all the awards away that year. But Shahid's natural and organic expressions and demeanour of the emotionally conflicted Aditya Kashyap are worth an applause. We say this, because playing a loud character can still be easy, but restraining yourself to play a second fiddle isn't always easy. And Shahid did that with brilliance.

It won't be an understatement if we say that Vishal Bharadwaj is the only person who has judged Shahid Kapoor's talent in the right manner and measures. Vishal Bharadwaj teamed up for the first time with Shahid in 2009 in 'Kaminey' where the actor played a double role - Charlie, with a lisp and Guddu, with a stammer - and nailed both the parts.

Both the parts - Charlie and Guddu - were as different as chalk and cheese and Shahid portrayed them unbelievably distinctly. It actually seemed that there were two different actors portraying them, as we do not like to exaggerate facts.

Shahid's debut venture was a career high. Not only did 'Ishq Vishk' catapult Shahid to instant fame and success, but also earned his 'Best Debutante' award at almost every award event that year. The cute Rajeev Mathur was an instant hit and the nation got a new heartthrob.

Shahid second movie 'Fida' was a far cry from what he did in his debut. Dark and edgy, the movie had Shahid running, killing, yelling, being soaked in blood - everything an actor won't attempt in his second venture, but Shahid is Shahid. He did and did it with aplomb. The movie, though, didn't do well, but earned him the status of a star who can act.

'Dil Bole Hadippa' was an out-and-out Rani Mukerji movie as it was her comeback vehicle, but in this Rani-dominated movie too, Shahid held his own. He was charming and dynamic as Rohan and got the nuances of the character pretty well. Watch the climax to know more.

Shahid often mentions what his father, veteran actor Pankaj Kapur, taught him - to ACT. And Shahid, being the obedient son, follows it to the tee. 'Mausam' might not have done well at the Box Office, but you can watch the whole movie just to see Shahid act. His every expression, every nuance fitted the character and took it to another level of brilliance.

Bollywood Celebs who were Physically Abused by their Partners

Aishwarya Rai

Let’s start with the world’s most gorgeous woman Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. As we all know, the Aishwarya-Salman affair had generated a big storm when their break-up story hit newspapers and tabloids. But what went wrong between the two most ‘good-looking’ people? Well, Aishwarya after the split up was found saying that she had to endure Salman’s alcoholism and was at the receiving end of his abuses and infidelity. They broke up when Salman indirectly confessed to her that he was cheating on her. In 2000, Aishwarya's parents also filed a police complaint against Salman Khan for stalking, threatening and trying to forcefully enter Aishwarya’s house.

This whole episode took another leap in 2002, when Salman came onto the sets of Chalte Chalte. Furious actor “reportedly” hit Aishwarya and pushed her on the ground and destroyed the sets. As a result of all this high-end drama, Aishwarya was sacked from the film and Rani Mukerji was roped in.

Aishwarya in her interview to Times of India said, “There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks. And I would go to work as if nothing had happened."

Now going to the other side of the story, when Salman was asked whether he has hit a woman, he said "If I hit a woman, she wouldn't have survived. It's not true that I hit a woman." As for the former Miss World,“Let others say what they want. But every person concerned knows the truth... God is the witness." Aishwarya even declared Salman’s chapter to be a nightmare in her life.

Zeenat Aman

A successful actress, model and former beauty queen, Zeenat’s married life and her relationship both were unfortunately far away from being perfect. In the 80s Zeenat's relationship with already married Sanjay Khan ended on a terrible note. There were reports in the print that Sanjay brutally bashed up Zeenat in front of his wife in hotel Taj.

He thrashed her so much that Zeenat got a permanent scar on her eye. After this incident, Zeenat went into the state of shock and had to be injected with anti-depressants three times a day. In an old report one of her doctor was quoted saying“Zeenat was in such a terrible state. Her face was covered with bruises and black eyes. There were blood clots in her eyes and her lips were severely cut.” After this gory anti-fairy-tale, Zeenat got married to Mazhar Khan. Unfortunately the actress was physically battered in this relationship also. In a press conference in Mumbai, Zeenat bravely spoke about this issue and brought it to limelight. Zeenat had filed for divorce also but Mazhar’s sudden death due to renal failure brought an end to to their marriage.
Yukta Mookhey
Now moving from famous to not so famous starlets of Bollywood, here is another beauty queen. The former Miss World Yukta Mookhey, is also a victim of domestic violence. In 2012, she submitted a written application in the Mumbai police station against her husband, Prince Tulli, alleging harassment and abuse. Following which the police had carried out an inquiry but no FIR was registered.

However, recently, on July 4, she finally filed an FIR with a dowry harassment case against him. She has claimed that Tuli has been verbally and physically abusing her and forces her to have unnatural sex.

Dimpy Ganguly

Right after the much-publicised Swayamwar, Dimpy Mahajan was seen making headlines for her charges against her husband Rahul Mahajan. She spoke out loud about his abusive ways and how Rahul used to point his gun at her during their fights. When Mumbai Mirror met up with Dimpy just hours after that incident, there were bruises on her shin, right and left hand, while her left cheek was swollen. There was also a lump on her head. Dimpy’s statement in the media at that time was, “I don't know what I have gotten myself into. He seemed nice, but no one can control him when he gets abusive."

Shweta Tiwari
The most popular beti of Indian Television, Shweta Tiwari, is another victim of domestic violence. Before her divorce the actress had been pouring her heart out in interviews about troubled relationship with her husband. The abusive marriage lasted 14 years and came to an end with Shweta’s allegations about domestic abuse in court against Raja. She claimed that Raja would come home drunk and physically harm her. During their marriage also, Shweta had reported against Raja several times in police stations for physical and verbal abuse.

Rucha Gujrati
TV actress Rucha Gujrati who made her debut with Ekta Kapoor's show-Kkusum is another victim on the list. She was married to businessman Mitul Sanghavi and reportedely her marriage hit the rock bottom due to the physical and mental abuse at the hands of her husband and in-laws. According to the reports published in TOI, sources said that Rucha was tortured and badly beaten on many occasions by her husband and in-laws. The torture was to an extent that she was even deprived of meals and asked to foot the bills for her expenses.

Famous Bollywood Celebrities Who Married Their Co-Stars

Kunal Khemu and Soha Ali Khan: They have had a successful live-in relationship and are now the hottest newly-married couple of 2015. And, even their love story was an outcome of the two working together on the same projects. Kunal and Soha worked together in the movies, Dhoondhte Reh Jaogeand 99, in 2009. Initially, they believed that they were quite different and could not even be friends. But, as they spent time with each other, their opinions changed, and the two were drawn to each other in no time.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: When they both met on the sets of Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke and Kuch Naa Kaho, they were just friends. In fact, the two had separate love interests at that time. It was in 2006, when they were out of their respective relationships, and were working together in three films,Umrao Jaan, Guru and Dhoom 2. As they got to spend a lot of time together, both of them developed feelings towards each other. Finally, this power couple of Bollywood tied the knot in 2007, and are the proud parents of youngest Bachchan in the nation, Aaradhya.

Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh: Ritiesh and Genelia first met for the test shoot of their Bollywood debut, Tujhe Meri Kasam. Initially, Genelia gave him a cold shoulder as she expected him to be a spoilt brat because of him being the son of then chief minister of Maharashtra. But, as she spent time with him, she found Riteish to be totally opposite of what she thought. Soon, the two fell in love and tied the knot on February 3, 2012. The two are now the proud parents of a baby boy.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan: It happened in 2007, when the relationship of Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor was almost over. At the same time, Bebo started shooting for Tashan, with Bollywood’s nawab, Saif Ali Khan. Love blossomed between the two while working together in the beautiful locations of Kerala, Ladakh, Rajasthan, Greece and Haridwar. They dated for around five years, and finally had a simple registered marriage in October 2012.

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna: Twinkle may have found her career away from Bollywood, but she found her soulmate from the tinsel town. Akshay and Twinkle worked together in two films- International Khiladi and Zulmi. Although both these films failed to create any magic on the box office, it worked wonders for these two. The man with a colourful past, Akshay, finally found true love in Twinkle, and the two tied the knot in 2001. They are now doting parents to two adorable sons.

Ajay Devgn and Kajol: Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan maybe irreplaceable on screen, but Kajol's off-screen chemistry with her husband, Ajay Devgn is really rocking. They both met on the sets ofHulchul in 1995, and dated for almost four years. Their romance led to marriage in 1999. The couple is blessed with two kids, daughter Nysa and son Yug.

Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan: The love story of this ‘golden couple’ of Bollywood started while working on the sets ofZanjeer. Jaya was already a superstar by then, and Amitabh was just a struggling actor. While how they fell in love is quite a simple story, the story of how the two got married is really interesting. Senior Bachchan shared this story on air as he was hosting one of the seasons of the show Kaun Banega Crorepati. The two had decided to go to London ifZanjeer becomes a hit. As the movie turned out to be a big success on the box office, the two planned for the trip. However, Big B’s father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, did not approve of this trip unless they were married. So, the ‘already in love’ couple tied the knot in a hurry and left for London the same day.

Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh: This charming couple of Bollywood met each other for the first time on the sets of Zehrila Insaan. However, it was not love at first sight for these two. Rather, the two eventually fell in love as they spent time together. At that time, Neetu Singh was just 14, and had started her career in the tinsel town. On the other hand, Rishi Kapoor was a well-established actor by then. Because of her tender age, the couple had to face some opposition from Neetu’s mother. But, the two passed every test successfully and soon got married.

Dharmendra and Hema Malini : Their love story is as good as a hit masala Bollywood flick. They fell in love with each other on the sets of Tum Haseen Main Jawan. But, the He-man of Bollywood was already married then and had two sons out of his first wedding. As his first wife, Prakash Kaur, denied to give him a divorce, Dhramendra converted to Islam and tied the knot with the ‘dream girl’ of Bollywood, on August 21, 1979.
